FALL BALL SHOWOWN TOURNAMENT RULES

  • AGE ELIGIBILTY  we ask you to confirm designation through USSSA age calculator to determine league age.
  • PICK UP PLAYERS you may pick up any number of players from WITHIN your Rec park to compose your team. They must be from the same Rec park, played in 2023 fall season, and playing in the appropriate age division (per USSSA age calculator).  A PLAYER MAY PLAY UP from their age designation, but may no play down. If a player played down during the 2023 fall rec season with their parks permission, that is NOT allowed to carry over into this tournament.

 For Rules,
We will follow the GCGSA-USSSA Rec/Tournament rules with the following changes or adjustments-
• ROSTER/ PICKUPS You may pick up players within YOUR park. They must qualify to play based on YOUR team's age designation, defined by USSSA Age chart/calendar. Rosters may be emailed prior to the tournament or turned into the director the day of the tournament, prior to warming up for 1st game. (Turn in by hand at the "Coaches Corner" Sign-in table in the middle of the softball quad.)

•COACHES NAMES MUST BE TURNED IN BY MON NOV 13TH*** 3 max per team.

NO 6-9 Rule for 16u. We will still honor the mercy rule.

COACHES please keep sportsmanship in mind! There is no reason to purposely max the mercy rule.

Please remember you are ending your season and leaving these young ladies with a lasting memory!

•NO NEW INNINGS will begin within 5 minutes of time expiring.

•ALL PLAYERS MUST BAT SATURDAY FOR POOL GAMES. Sunday Bracket is at Coaches discretion.

•YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SLIDE AT HOME UNLESS THERE IS A PLAY.  Runner is out when ... the runner does not slide or attempt to get around a fielder who has the ball and is waiting to make the tag. If there is no play, Runner needs to make an attempt to avoid contact if not sliding.

•TIEBREAKER in Pool games are allowed. FOR BRACKET: When the time limit has expired, and the score is still tied, the tiebreaker procedure will begin. The player, who had the last completed at bat, assumes a position on 2nd base. A courtesy runner may be used for the pitcher or catcher. This procedure would be done at the beginning of each half inning; until a winner is determined.

•8U ONLY 4 players may be used in the outfield.

****We reserve the right to change and alter rules as needed or decided by the Tournament Director. All changes will be sent out to registered Team Head Coach & posted here.****
